Wanship in Summit County Utah
Wanship is an unincorporated community in Summit County, Utah and is located at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Utah State Route 32, at the junction of Silver Creek and the Weber River. Wanship is about 35 miles from Salt Lake City, and 8 miles from Coalville. The town lies at an elevation of over 5,800 feet in the Wasatch Range.
Summit County is located in northeastern Utah and is surrounded by eight counties, including two counties from Wyoming. Summit County is part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Summit County has a population of about 30,000 residents living in 1,882 square miles of land of which 11 square miles is water. The county is mostly occupied by a mountainous terrain and includes 39 of the highest peaks in Utah. The Wasatch Range and Uinta Mountains dominate the landscape of Summit County and are popular attractions for outdoor activities.
Summit County is home to four cities, two towns, five census designated places and three unincorporated communities. The County seat is Coalville and the largest community is Park City, a major ski resort town.
